Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM New York, NY
We're happy to invite you to our partner NGO NFCC's event!
The #LetsFaceItPeriod campaign brought together Kiran Gandhi and Rupi Kaur, two activists and artists, to meet for the first time and create a unique composition meant to empower women around the world that was recorded at DMNDR Studios in NYC. We are excited to finally release the short music video for "Sun Spills" on March 30, 2016.
There will be brief introductions by Rupi Kaur and Kiran Gandhi before showing the video. A night of fun and celebration to follow!
Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served.
The #Let’sFaceItPeriod social media campaign aims to start an open and global dialogue on menstruation, to break taboos and stigmas that exist worldwide, and to raise funds to support menstrual health programs in Tanzania, Kenya, South Sudan and the US to keep girls in school. The launch event of the Let’s Face It. Period. Campaign took place at the Centre for Social Innovation in New York City on September 1st 2015.
The first collaboration between Rupi and Kiran, amongst many others, will support the #LetsFaceItPeriod campaign by allocating all benefits to the campaign. The #LetsFaceItPeriod campaign will be supporting four organizations that work in Kenya, Tanzania, and South Sudan, (Huru International, Girls Health Ed, Femme International and Stand4Education). Through these projects, we will provide 23,000 girls with access to sustainable and reusable Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) products, including training on Sexual Reproductive Health and women’s rights. The #LetsFaceItPeriod campaign will continue until the end of March 2016.
