We are organizing a viewing party of the Campus ERA Event on Monday, April 15 at 5:30 pm, at the Centre for Social Innovation in New York City (601 W 26th Street (btwn 11th & 12th ave) Suite 325 New York, NY 10001)! We'll be connecting to the event via live video connection and we have the possibility to join the discussion and the Q&A in the event. The viewing party will take place at the Women's Lab of CSI and we will provide some snacks and drinks for you as well. Please join us for a chill after work session and learn about the Equal Rights Amendment and the movement to make the Amendment happen!
The actual event is organised by a group of students participating in the Grove Fellowship at Hunter College led by Carol Jenkins. Together with the ERA Coalition, they aim to spread awareness of and gain support for the revitalized push to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment to the United States Constitution.
In 1923,the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) was introduced in Congress to ensure that women were equal under the law and prevent sex-based discrimination.Almost one hundred years later, the United States Constitution still does not guarantee equal rights for women! To accelerate the pace of change, the Campus ERA Day was started in 2017.
