Nordic Walking Group event - Fitness walking with poles!

  • Centre for Social Innovation 601 West 26th St. suite 325-102 New York, 10001 (map)

Social pole walking event with Sonja Johansson from HYVÄ Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking Group event is a social walk using walking poles which is a Nordic thing. Compared to regular walking, pole walking is more efficient (burns 40% more calories) and activates your whole body (90% of body muscle). It's a perfect way to get good exercise while chatting with your friend and getting to know new people!

To teach us how to do it, we have Movement Educator Sonja Johansson giving a 20min representation of the technique, equipment and health benefits before the walk at CSI. The poles for the walk are provided by the instructor. The walk takes an hour, we will make a circle and return to CSI. Once you get excited, you can purchase your own poles after the walk!

The event is completely free. To register, please email to: rsvp@kota-alliance.org
