The Mission of the Kota Alliance is to be a nonprofit social enterprise incubator in New York City providing fiscal, physical, and programmatic support to startup civil society organizations and women-centered enterprises, whose work increases gender equality and empowers women and girls, locally and globally.
Our vision is to form a hub for small- to medium-size global and local civil society organizations in New York City. The purpose of this space is to better societies all over the world by supporting civil society organizations that work globally to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment.
We know that space rental is a major expense for many organizations, especially those starting out or operating on a smaller scale. By designating an architecturally remarkable, visually stunning, and functionally versatile space, we will support the activities of these organizations. Aside from subsidized work, conference, and event space, we will also provide other physical and virtual tools and services that organizations need. Administrative and programmatic benefits such as assistance with fundraising, member training, document and database organization, grant writing, etc. will increase the efficiency and success of each organization.
Our mission is to reduce our members' overhead spending, thus channeling more resources into their actual programs and mission, and to bring like-minded organizations together, fostering a physical proximity where an ideological already exists. Kota will provide qualified organizations with office, conference, and event space and lodging at subsidized rates, all in one Manhattan building.
We invite other Civil Society Organizations, who along with us embrace the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly #5 (Gender Equality), to join as member or affiliate organizations. We have met with and been endorsed by leading women’s advocates who share our belief: the Kota Alliance is long overdue.
