Writing Women - Interview Series

Celebrating the Poetry month, the interns of Kota Alliance created a series of 3 interviews with 3 women writers working or living in Harlem. This local project aims at supporting current writers’ visibility and to encourage future authors.

Our first guest, Teresa Mateus, captivates with her blend of spirituality, activism, and healing in her writing. Teresa shares her journey as a writer, offering a glimpse into her perspective of writing through an excerpt from her upcoming book "The Path of the Puma and the Humming Bird" She also offers a couple tips for future writers.

Video available on Youtube here.

Upcoming episodes will feature Laura Bowman and Betty Pierre, as we continue to showcase the richness of West Harlem's literary landscape.

A project by Noémie Hueber and Amanda Hekkala
