Join us for a workshop on intersectionality and economic empowerment of refugee and immigrant women!
About this Event
Empowerment has become a buzzword for anything gender equality. But what does it mean to be empowered? Does empowerment mean the same for all? This event addresses economic empowerment from an intersectional perspective with a focus on sustainable livelihoods of refugee and immigrant women.
The event is organized as a workshop in which representatives from refugee and immigrant communities from around the world share their experiences and strategies to promote sustainable livelihoods. Together with the audience, intersectional approaches to economic empowerment will be developed. The objective is to create a global network on economic empowerment for refugee and immigrant women.
The event is co-sponsored by WoW e.V. and the Kota Alliance. It is part of the 2019 NGO CSW63 Forum parallel events.
WoW e.V. is a human rights organization that addresses intersectional discrimination in the German labor market.
The Kota Alliance is a NYC based 501c3 with the mission to establish a World Center for Women.
