Women Run Harlem! with Melba Wilson

The Kota Alliance is proud to honor celebrity chef MELBA WILSON, founder of the iconic Melba's Restaurant. “Born, bred & buttered” in Harlem, Melba is a true visionary, entrepreneur, and community leader. Come join us for an evening of lively conversation and delicious American comfort food - space is limited, so reserve your ticket today!

Kota is dedicated to women’s economic empowerment. In this new series - WOMEN RUN HARLEM - successful entrepreneurs and community leaders will share their inspiring stories, the lessons learned along the way, and their exciting plans for the future. Come hear how Melba launched Harlem’s famous Gospel Sunday Brunch before starting her own culinary empire, all centered at her eponymous restaurant. She has bested Bobby Flay on Food Network, written a mouth-watering cookbook, and helped raise funds for so many projects all around Harlem.

We will converge in Kota’ s new historic home in Harlem, poised to become an epicenter for women entrepreneurs, community leaders, and empowered activists. Hear about our upcoming programming, learn how to become a Kota member (either individually or as an organization), and give us your feedback: What do women in Harlem need, right now?

Refreshments served. Dress code: business attire or casual chic.

Please note our Covid policy: Proof of vaccination is required for entry. Masks are strongly encouraged when not eating or drinking. Windows will be open for air circulation and attendance capped to avoid crowding. If you feel sick at all, please stay home.
